# Other Games / Creator Showcase 01

Preview brief — 15 September 2026. Event: Saturday 19 September, 3 p.m. Eastern (19:00 UTC; Sunday 20 September, 3 a.m. Singapore).
Proposed submission cutoff: Friday 18 September, noon Eastern (16:00 UTC). Organizer rehearsal availability and the plot must be confirmed before launch.

## Build something we can step into

Build a playable MML game for a live audience. A simple rule or short round is enough to start; scenery alone is not the competition entry. Original work and thoughtfully credited remixes are eligible for review; the supplied starters and assets are optional.

Three creators will be selected to feature live, subject to technical rehearsal. No creator/director role is needed to submit. Joining Otherside still requires whatever normal player access applies; organizer placement access does not grant an attendee account or entitlement.

## Suggested plot

Start within 100 m width × 100 m depth × 20 m height. This is a proposed event envelope, NOT an Otherside limit or verified venue dimension. Submit larger concepts with accurate measurements for placement review. Centre the scene at the origin, with the intended walking surface at y=0; explain offsets or terrain requirements. Include moving parts and decorations in your dimensions.

## Make it usable

- Inspect at player height. Make entrances, routes, steps, exits, instructions and clickable targets clear.
- Keep decoration out of movement routes. Check visual geometry and collision separately.
- Light intensity and emission must be 1 or lower, including derived GLB material emission.
- For interactive work, explain start, end and reset. Identify any host-only controls and running service dependencies.
- Use public asset URLs or self-contained geometry. Do not submit credentials.
- Preview with a second connected client where interaction is shared. Browser results do not certify Otherside behavior.
- Clearly state what remains untested. We prefer honest gaps to unsupported capacity claims.

## Submit

Creator/team and contact; title and description; editable MML source (.mml/.html/.txt, UTF-8, up to 2 MB); editor URL; optional short demo; dimensions and intended player count; placement/start/reset instructions; asset dependencies; credits; known issues. Larger supporting assets stay at their listed URLs.

Keep your private receipt link. It gives access to status, feedback and source revisions. No automatic receipt email is sent. Every revision retains the earlier source. Rehearsed, selected and alternate versions are locked; coordinate any changes with the organizer.

## Review and selection

We consider the idea, visual execution, audience experience and practical readiness. Source preflight flags support human review; they do not score taste. Shortlisted work needs an organizer-led world rehearsal. Selected source and asset versions must remain stable through the event.

Participation does not transfer ownership. Submission permission covers private testing and, if selected, hosting and featuring with credit. It does not grant public redistribution of your source or third-party assets. No prize or monetary reward is promised by this brief.

## Optional game directions

Hot Potato, Snakes & Ladders, or Bank or Risk: use one clear rule and a complete round. See MECHANICS-GUIDE.md for timers, player registration, match standings, scoring and host controls. A full game or persistent leaderboard is not an entry requirement. A 100 × 100 m footprint is available as proposed guidance, not a target to fill or a performance guarantee.

## Clarified selection process — 16 September
Build a game → submit → the team invites favourites to test → the team selects 3 winning games for the live audience. Other Games has the creator role and helps invited creators place and test their MML in Otherside. Entrants do not need a creator/director role. Selection and test invitations are at the team’s discretion, not guaranteed. Gameplay comes first; aesthetics are a plus. Saturday 19 September is 3 PM ET. Friday noon ET is the submission cutoff and test slots are arranged with invitees.
